The 2020 MTV VMAs held its significance more than ever this year, primarily because it was a huge music event that took place for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hence why it was no surprise that this past August, many musicians were looking steal the show by dressing to impress.

Colombian songwriter, Maluma, came with captivating attire, rocking a personalised neon yellow double-breasted Balmain suit, which he designed alongside Balmain's Olivier Rousteing.

Maluma's stylist, Ugo Mozie, stated that the yellow suit paid homage to the 26-year old's native country of Colombia, with its flag being yellow, blue and red.

Additionally, the emerging electronic singer Ela Minus, who also hails from Colombia, stated that it was also important for her to not turn her back on Colombian fashion as a public figure.

Thus, Minus ended up collaborating with a Colombian clothing company that solely sales clothing made by Colombian designers.

This was done to highlight the style of Latin American fashion.

Although Minus mainly wears Colombian designed clothing, she tends to go for more subtle styles and neutral colours such as black and white, contrasting to the stereotypical bright colours used in Latin American fashion.
