Peggy Gou's relationship with music and fashion

It is indisputable that both music and fashion have a strong correlation with each other. With some of the music industry’s most prestigious artists and producers, it’s evident that they want the audience to pay close attention to their attire. From wearing baggy clothing with multi-coloured styles to high-end designer brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton.




Whether it’s for a music video or live performance, it is definitely important for a person in the music industry to retain a striking external image. Therefore, it makes sense why South Korean music producer and entrepreneur Peggy Gou decided to launch her independent fashion label KIRIN (translating to giraffe in English).





Additionally, the brand is supported by successful fashion designer Virgil Abloh, who is also the current artistic director of Louis Vuitton's men’s wear collection. KIRIN would be best described as distinct high-end streetwear that has vibrant and powerful colour blocking designs whilst containing mythological Korean patterns. The brand offers all types of authentic finery: futuristic trench coats, multi motif jeans, matching logo print pyjamas, striking mythological imagery on sweatshirts and vivid bucket hats.


Gou, 29, has had an amazing year thus far. During summer, she was featured on the 69th volume of the DJ Kicks mix compilation and released her first music video for the track ‘Starry Night’. Furthermore, Forbes magazine named Gou as one of the Asian leaders, entrepreneur and pioneers who are under the age of 30. KIRIN is available in all the top fashion stores worldwide.
