Autopsy confirms that producer Erick Morillo died of a drug overdose

A recent autopsy revealed that American producer Erick Morillo, who passed away last month in September, cause of death was due to an overdose of multiple drug narcotics such as cocaine.


This information was confirmed by Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's office on Tuesday, October 13.

Miami Police Department was called to Morillo's home at approximately 10:45 a.m. after being found by an individual who went to check on him.


The 49-year-old was best known for his 1994 hit single "I Like to Move It". This single went on to be heavily featured in DreamWorks' Madagascar franchise.
