Interview: Sergio Sergi

Few artists represent London's house scene quite like Sergio Sergi. Originally from Italy but shaped by years behind the decks in the UK capital, Sergio has steadily built a reputation through releases on respected labels including Snatch!, Moon Harbour, Rawthentic and Moxy, while earning the support of some of the biggest names in the industry, including Michael Bibi.
With several new releases planned throughout 2026, we caught up with Sergio to talk about the breakthrough moments that defined his career, his studio workflow, the influence of his Italian roots, and the long-term goals that continue to drive him forward.
Your productions have found homes on labels like Snatch!, Moon Harbour, Rawthentic and Moxy, while artists such as Michael Bibi have supported your music. Looking back, what has been the biggest turning point in your production journey?
"Stay With Me" was definitely the biggest turning point for me. Having Michael Bibi support that track during the first lockdown, and then continue playing it for another two or three years, was something I'll never forget.
People were constantly asking when it would finally be released. When someone at Michael's level believes in your music, it changes everything. It gives you confidence and motivates you to keep pushing your sound further.
When you're in the studio, what usually comes first: the groove, the bassline or the overall atmosphere? Can you walk us through your creative process?
Sampling is always where everything begins for me. I love digging for melodies and finding something that immediately inspires an idea.
Once I have that, I move straight to the kick and bassline because they have to work perfectly together. That relationship is the foundation of every track.
After that I'll introduce the vocal, and finally build the drums and percussion around everything else. The whole process is very instinctive once those first elements fall into place.
You've built your career in London's underground scene while staying connected to your Italian roots. How have those two worlds influenced your music and your identity as an artist?
London is where I truly developed my sound. Playing clubs there and experiencing those crowds taught me what works on the dancefloor and pushed me to take music production seriously.
At the same time, I'm Italian through and through, and I think that side naturally brings emotion and warmth into my music.
Even if it's not immediately obvious, it's always there. Today those two influences have completely merged, I don't really separate them anymore.
You've got several new Tech House and Minimal Tech releases planned for 2026. Without giving away too much, what can fans expect from your next wave of productions?
I'm always trying to evolve, both technically and creatively. Every new release is another step forward, but whatever changes I make, everything always comes back to house music. That's the foundation of what I do and the direction I'll always follow. House music is the real secret.
Looking ahead, what's next for Sergio Sergi? Are there any dream collaborations, labels, festivals or personal milestones you're determined to achieve?
I've always been a huge fan of Circoloco. For me it represents the ultimate club experience, from the atmosphere to the sound system. If I had to dream big, I'd say playing at DC10 and releasing on Circoloco Records. That would be an incredible milestone and something that would mean everything to me.
