Opening its doors in 1901 as The Camden Theatre, the venue we all know today as KOKO has remained one of London’s most iconic cultural landmarks and a cornerstone of the city’s music scene for over a century.

Originally built as a theatre before evolving into the legendary Camden Palace nightclub during the ‘80s and ‘90s, KOKO became synonymous with London nightlife, hosting everything from live concerts and Britpop nights to underground electronic music events that helped shape generations of club culture.

Celebrating its 125th anniversary, KOKO has welcomed some of the world’s most influential artists to its stage, including Prince, Madonna, Grace Jones, Amy Winehouse and, in more recent years, Tom Misch, Dua Lipa, Jorja Smith and Raye.

Beyond live performances, KOKO has also become a major destination for electronic music culture in London. Over the years, its dancefloor has hosted globally respected brands, underground collectives and cutting-edge artists across house, techno, disco and electronic live performances. The venue’s immersive lighting, intimate balconies and theatre-inspired architecture create a unique atmosphere that bridges the energy of a nightclub with the heritage of a live music institution.

Following its multi-million-pound restoration and reopening, KOKO has entered a new era with state-of-the-art production, hidden rooms, exclusive members’ spaces and an even stronger focus on curated music experiences, continuing to position Camden at the centre of London’s evolving electronic and nightlife landscape.
