Johnny Nash was an American reggae and pop singer who topped the charts in 1972 with his hit single 'I Can See Clearly Now', has died at the age of 80.
Nash's son, John Nash III, told American tabloid platform TMZ that his father died of natural causes in his home on the afternoon of October 6 2020.
Many music fans have found it difficult to process Nash's death, as the news comes just hours after the passing of prominent guitarist Eddie van Halen, who died at age 65 after a five year battle with throat cancer.
Tributes on social media began after the announcement of Nash's passing, with fans and notable musicians such as Boy George crediting his mark on reggae music as an American native.
